When it comes to cases of equine colic, the veterinary team are presented with both a diagnostic challenge and a potential emergency. Being well prepared as a team, will allow for safe and efficient diagnosis and treatment, which in turn will allow for the best outcome for the patient, and all involved. Although most colic cases will resolve with medical treatment, many will be referred for an exploratory laparotomy.
