This course is aimed at those with an intermediate level of knowledge in abdominal ultrasound and would be ideally suited to participants who attended our 'Introduction to Small Animal Ultrasound'

 

During this highly practical course you will be guided to identify normal and abnormal ultrasonographic appearance of the abdomen including: Liver, Spleen, Gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract and pancreas.

You will receive advice on how to choose an ultrasound machine for your practice however you are welcome to bring your current US equipment with you if you wish to use equipment that you're already familiar with.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Recall the basic principles of ultrasound physics
  •  Discuss artefacts in ultrasound in detail
  •  Demonstrate image optimisation and knobology
  • Identify the importance of performing a scan in a systematic manner
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive abdominal ultrasound
  • Examine the ultrasonographic features of common pathologies
