The Power of Nutrition, unleashed! An introduction to Veterinary Nutrition for Nurses.

Adequate nutrition for dogs and cats is important to prevent diseases, and it is also a tool to help manage certain conditions. Therefore, providing adequate feeding plan recommendations, including diet choice, treats, daily allowance, and feeding methods is crucial for the health of our patients.

During this course, we will review the basic nutritional requirements of dogs and cats depending on their Lifestage and learn how to assess commercial diets and compare their nutritional profile.

Finally, we will apply this knowledge to perform an adequate nutritional assessment and apply the information obtained in this assessment to recommend a customised feeding plan for our patient.

This course will have independent information and will focus on the important of nutrients and the break down of foods. Clear and unbiased information is the aim of the day.

Speaker: Cecilia Villaverde Haro, BVSc, PhD, Diplomate (Nutrition) of the ACVIM (Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionist®), Diplomate ECVCN (EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition)
