Ocular surgery can be challenging because of the need to be very precise. The different approaches required in feline patients will be discussed. A very straightforward enucleation technique will be taught. Tips on positioning, surgical instrumentation, suture material, techniques, and using loupes will be given.
Procedures being covered on the day include:
- Replacement of prolapsed nictitans glands (cherry eye)
- Temporary tarsorrhaphy and proptosis
- Eyelid laceration
- Eyelid tumour resection
- Entropion correction
- Enucleation
