Animal Handling/Capture and Equipment for Professionals 15TH Feb 2024

The one-day dog awareness course has been designed to provide personnel who come into contact with dogs as part of their daily routine with the knowledge and skills to prevent serious injury. 

John Peaveler is a humanitarian and animal welfare professional with over 19 years of global experience. He specializes in the fields of free-roaming animal management, disaster response, and animal handling and capture. He began his career in 2004 rescuing dogs and building an animal shelter, comprehensive free-roaming animal management program and wildlife sanctuary in Kuwait along with his wife, Ayeshah Al-Humaidhi, which they ran together for 11 years. He has extensive experience in international disaster and cruelty response as well as free-roaming animal population management programs. John has deployed to major disasters globally including in the Philippines, Haiti, Japan,Ukraine, Turkey and across the United States, with recent experience managing operations after the Lahaina fire in Maui, Hawaii. John has also taught animal handling and capture globally, with a goal of helping handlers stay safe, effective, and humane in all environments. 

 

In addition to extensive work and personal travel, John enjoys the outdoors, ultra-running, paddling and time with family including his wife, two children, dogs, cats, chickens, and cows.
